Leeds United’s Tyler Adams

Adams is a player that is very familiar with Marsch and his tactics. Having played in the USA Internationals and RB Leipzig, Adams and Marsch have crossed paths quite often.

Adams was brought to bring physicality and aggressiveness to the pitch. The midfielder brings the tenacity away from the ball that is needed to replace the defensive wizard in Phillips.

In no way are Adams and Phillips similar players, but the few similarities translate well for this squad.

Adams is an aggressive defender and closes the gaps very quickly. He is a strong anchor for the forwards to press and allow support. The turnovers that Adams creates are all part of the pressing system under Marsch.

Adams is certainly filling the defensive hole created by the departure of Phillips.
