Nottingham Forest’s Latest Addition Should Complete the Summer Preparations
With Morgan Gibbs-White’s addition to Nottingham Forest, he becomes the club’s 16th summer arrival. Surely they must be done after spending a reportedly total of £145.5m on 16 new players.
A big risk has been taken by Steve Cooper and his transfer committee as they add 16 players to the squad after the announcement of Morgan Gibbs-White arriving from Wolves for £42.5m. The deal will see him join Cooper’s side on a five-year deal with an initial fee of £25m up front with £17m in additional bonus payments.
It took them three bids to get Wolves to crack but the arrival of Matheus Nunes to the Molineux could have worked in Notts’ favour to get the deal over the line.

Nottingham Forest: What Is Life Without Risk
We’ve seen Fulham become the first club to spend over £100m after just being promoted and get relegated imminently after all their big buys and endless spending. Cooper has only followed in their footsteps where spending is concerned, actually exceeding their huge spending.
They’ve bought enough players to make another starting XI and have a substitution ready to play. They’ve covered every position that either needed better quality or more depth.
From Henderson taking up the goal post to Taiwo Awoniyi leading the line, they’ve made some ground this transfer window to being named the second-highest spending club this summer, at the time of writing this.
Will Nottingham Forest Do More Work Before the Summer Window Closes?
Nothing suggests they will stop with number 16 and at Morgan Gibbs-White, having worked with the manager during their time together at Swansea City in 2020/21, he was a player that was wanted desperately by the manager.
They have already gotten off the mark this season, earning their first three points against West Ham. They have lost one and won one over the opening two games. In their next Premier League encounter, they come up against a struggling Everton side. The pair will meet at Goodison Park.
There should be no reason for them to dip back into the market unless they lose one or more of their most important players to injuries before deadline day.
