Chelsea: The Blues are Still Working on Deals for Three Players
Last listed player: Frenkie de Jong
De Jong’s situation at the Camp Nou is no secret with the club wanting to offload the Dutchman to free up funds and recover some of the transfer money spent this summer and the debt they owe.
Manchester United have identified the midfielder as a prime summer target but have failed in every attempt to try to lure him to Old Trafford. Since the Dutchman has denied a United switch, the Blues have seen it as the perfect opportunity to highjack the transfer, with Man United not giving up on ten Hag’s old boy as well.
"Manchester United agreed a £72m fee to sign De Jong last month but he is owed £17m in deferred wages and will not agree to leave until he is paid. Barcelona want him to stay but only if he agrees to take a significant pay cut and accept a £6m settlement for his deferred wages. Chelsea are willing to match United’s £72m offer and unlike United, they can offer De Jong Champions League football. (via: skysports.com)"
The Blues have the money to prize him away from the Catalan side, with them ready to match “United’s agreed £72m bid” for the midfield man.
If a deal does go through for Frenkie de Jong, the Blues will have the best dribblers from the Premier League and La Liga from last season.
One New Name Added to Chelsae’s Summer Target List: Cesare Casadei
The 19-year-old midfielder is seen as an investment for the future. Inter want £12m for the youngster, who is yet to make a senior appearance for them.
