So what can Manchester United achieve in 2022/23?

Manchester United are always expected to compete for the biggest honours in the game. This season though, the expectation could be a little more tepid. The need of the hour is to give time to the manager to implement his vision and imprint his style of play on the squad.

Setting a definitive template is sure to benefit as Manchester United have the talent but lack the technical discipline. Being a World Cup year, plenty of players in the squad also have their national squad places in the mix and will be looking to put their best foot forward.

The club will aim to finish in the top 4 to confirm Champions League football for next season. But with a thinner squad and seeing how their rivals have improved their ranks this season, it seems likely that United would have to bide their time in the UEFA Europa League once again next season.

The Red Devils will be favourites for the Europa League title this season along with rivals Arsenal. Winning the trophy would automatically guarantee them CL football. But how Ten Hag manages his charges in multiple competitions along with a World Cup in between remains to be seen.

Success in the Europa League and top 4 in the Premier League would define the success of Manchester United this season.
