Top performers in preseason
1.) Anthony Martial

Many never considered Anthony Martial to be in Erik ten Hag’s plans this season but fast-forward to today and the Frenchman is in the conversation to start against Brighton on opening day this weekend.

Martial dazzled in the preseason with his goals, his touches and his nimble gameplay. The French striker scored three goals and provided an assist in five outings. His link-up and combination with the wing pair of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho is another thing to watch out for in the new season, provided he continues this form.

After a year in the wilderness with a lack of game time at United and a lack of output on loan at Sevilla, Martial once again seems to be getting on the right foot at Old Trafford.

2.) Jadon Sancho

The winger struggled for form last season with only five goals in 38 games in all competitions but with a full preseason and having worked under a better coach, Sancho has shown glimpses of his Dortmund days in the warm-up period.

The Englishman chipped in with three goals and two assists in five games. Playing on the right seems to have brought the best out of him and Ten Hag will be hoping that the Manchester City academy graduate continues that through the season.
