Newcastle Transfer News: Chelsea star emerges as shock target PLUS Leicester & PSG wingers

Magpies target Leicester and PSG duo as winger options
Two rumours have surfaced in recent days that could be viewed as potential reinforcements on the flanks.
First is Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes who has been cited in a report alongside Everton’s Anthony Gordon. Eddie Howe is reported to be in the market for a quick, wide attacker.
Both academy graduates of their respective clubs, Everton boss Frank Lampard has been quick to put an end to talk of an exit for Gordon who is contracted until 2025.
Leicester, on the other hand, have – to an extent – entertained Newcastle’s proposed interest by putting a £50m price tag on Barnes, 24.
The England international signed a new contract in the summer of 2021 keeping him at his boyhood club until 2025. Room to negotiate appears at a premium, therefore all but ending hope of his acquisition for the Toon Army.
PSG’s Julian Draxler a target of Newcastle United’s?
As is the nature of transfer windows, a fresh report can provide the Newcastle faithful with renewed optimism.
Julian Draxler of PSG is among a contingent of players that are set to be cast aside under new manager Christophe Galtier. An attacking midfielder by trade, Draxler can play any role across the attack line.
French outlet, Le10Sport, as quoted by the Sun, states that talks between Newcastle and the Parisian giants are to get underway imminently. A fee between £17m and £25m is reported to be sufficient.
From the outside looking in, the stars appear to have aligned for this transfer to materialise. Draxler, a German international, wants playing time ahead of the World Cup; PSG want to sell and Newcastle are interested.
Although, the factors that could prove detrimental are his wages and again Financial Fair Play rules. This is one to keep an eye on for sure.
