Fantasy Premier League: Five Goalkeepers to Consider for Your Gameweek 1 Team 22/23
1) David Raya (4.5m, Brentford)
Opening 6 fixtures: lei, MUN, ful, EVE, cry, LEE
Depending on how much Fantasy Premier League content you’ve already consumed in pre-season, my top pick may or may not come as a surprise.
The Spaniard was injured for a spell last season, hence made only 24 starts last season but in these starts, he boasted:
- 3.13 saves/90
- 76.8 save percentage, a league-leading value for regular starters
- 33.3 clean sheet percentage, placing him seventh best of all goalkeepers in the league
- 4.0 points per game in FPL last season.
These are all mightily impressive stats, on par with other keepers at a higher price point than him.
He has a relatively good-looking opening six games. Another factor in his favor is that there aren’t any regularly starting defenders from Brentford that are cheaper than him, something that plays into consideration for Aaron Ramsdale for example.
