Another player who has had a rather underwhelming season but has the potential to be an elite striker is 25-year-old Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan international joined Sevilla in January 2020 as a replacement for Javier Hernandez and Munas Dabbur. In his first half season with the Sevillistas Los Rojiblancos, he managed to score 4 times in 7 starts.

The 2020/2021 season saw a dramatic improvement in his productivity as he scored an impressive 24 goals across all competitions for the Spanish outfit.

In the 2020/21 season, En-Nesyri outscored Luis Suarez, Alexander Isak, Antoine Griezmann, Iago Aspas, and Gerard Moreno in non-penalty goals. Even though En-Nesyri is a central striker, his athleticism and pace make him a formidable opponent with runs down the flanks as he takes defenders out of position.

Arsenal and West Ham were said to be interested in him, with West Ham even making a bid worth €32million but a deal never came to fruition with Sevilla pricing the player out of a potential move.

Technically En Nesyri has limitations, is one-footed, and has much to learn about positioning and timing. Yet there’s an ability to maintain high-intensity sprints and repeats them consistently, which sets him apart.

Considering the fact that he stands at 6’2 and has a very lean frame, you would be forgiven for assuming he is nothing other than a target man. Bayern Munich bringing in En-Nesyri on a cut-price deal would be pretty good business.
