Raphinha: The numbers

Raphinha has put up between 0.5 to 0.6 expected goal involvement per 90 minutes across both his seasons at Leeds United. These are mightily impressive numbers given they were his first introduction to the Premier League and he was joining a freshly promoted team.

Due to Leeds’s style of play, Raphinha is a well-drilled presser of the ball making close to 18 pressures of possession per 90 last year. He averages 2.5 shots and 2.2 chances created per 90 across his last 4 seasons, equating to a high number of shot-creating actions in total, per game.

Final Thoughts

At the age of 25, he would bring an abundance of natural ability with plenty of zeal and scrap. He’s an astute signing for Chelsea Football Club and may well be the first major signing under the new ownership.
