Fulham near the signing of Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira

On Sunday, news surfaced that Fulham had made an offer to Manchester United regarding Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira.

Fabrizio Romano reports the initial offer was for €10m guaranteed plus add-ons and higher-ups at Old Trafford are expected to accept.

The player’s intentions are what lies between the transfer and its completion, but it’d be assumed a move to another Premier League club would appeal to Pereira, who has struggled for stability in his career to this point.

He spent last season on loan at Brazil first division side Flamengo and enjoyed a steady period of finding confidence after a spell with Serie A outfit Lazio which he’ll be keen to forget.

The 26-year-old operates as a number ‘8’, playing box-to-box with the focus of his ability on the attacking side of the game.

Tom Cairney is arguably the closest comparison at Marco Silva’s disposal, however, the skipper’s tarnished injury record demands the need for reinforcements to help piece together defence and attack.
