In recent years, Fulham have earned the dreaded title of a ‘yo-yo’ club thanks to their propensity to gain promotion to the Premier League but fall short in retaining their status as a top-flight team.

They have returned to the big time on their last three attempts and manager Marco Silva will be hoping it’ll be third-time lucky as he attempts to break the curse.

Superstitions aside, the former Hull City manager, who experienced relegation in his time with the Tigers, is in the process of putting the foundations in place to ensure luck doesn’t come into the equation.

Silva oversaw a mass exodus of sorts in the days succeeding the season’s conclusion, with several players being released along with two high-profile sales.

Former big-money signing Jean Michael-Seri was among a list of 14 names released while Anthony Knockaert, Josh Onomah and Ivan Cavaleiro are on the transfer list, as per the Athletic.

Andre-Frank Anguissa has made his loan to Napoli permanent in a deal worth £14.7m and youngster Fabio Carvalho will complete his £7.7m move to Liverpool at the turn of the month.

The above has given Silva a clean slate to start his overhaul and devise a team that is prepared for the different challenges posed by survival as opposed to promotion.
