Transfer News: Liverpool Loses Attacker to Monaco for €15m
Super-sub, Takumi Minamino, will leave Liverpool subject to a medical after agreeing to a €15M deal with AS Monaco; the deal includes add-ons that must still be thrashed out between the buyer and seller.
That’s two clutch players leaving Anfield this summer, first legend Divock Origi, and now super-sub, Takumi Minamino. The former is yet to be announced by the Serie A champions, AC Milan, with the deal possible being delayed for a second week running.
The latter, on the other hand, could have his medical done before his former teammate. At first, it wasn’t certain if he would be loaned out or sold by the club.
Having bought Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a record £85m and the Reds always looking to make their cash back when going big in the market, they were more than happy to move on the Japanese attacker, permanently.

Takumi Minamino: One of Liverpool’s Best Scorers off the Bench Last Season
He featured 24 times last season, mostly in the cup and nine of them being starts. Despite the minimal involvement from the 27-year-old, he still managed to score 10 goals and collect one assist.
He was the Carabao Cup king for Liverpool, scoring four in five games played, placing him jointed third for most goals in the cup; he had a major hand in bringing home Jurgen Klopp’s first EFL trophy. Overall and as a bench player for Klopp, he has enjoyed a great short spell at Anfield.
He leaves Merseyside for the French club with a decent strike rate; this even going back to his RB Salzburg days. In his 55 Liverpool appearances, he has scored 14 goals and has three assists.
With two of their first-team players who have helped them in the quest for silverware gone, who will they turn to on the bench now for goals in pressing moments?
