The three clubs with arguably the toughest test every summer are the newly promoted clubs from the EFL Championship. Not only will they have to find new players who are Premier League-ready, but they must try to hold onto their best players who assisted in gaining them promotion.

Fulham have already fell victim to this having lost their gem, Fabio Carvalho, to Liverpool on a free transfer. He joins the Reds on a five-year deal with the Cottagers entitled to compensation via a tribunal. Other than this, there have been several players released from each club and rather a slow start in the market.

However, things will soon start heating up for the trio of newcomers who are more re-entries with Nottingham Forest having a lot of catching up to do after a 23-year absence from the English top flight.

Bournemouth transfer news

The Cherries’ first order of business appears to be the capture of Middlesbrough midfielder, Marcus Tavernier. Reports suggest he caught the eye of the Bournemouth boss last season in the Championship.

However, it is also said that they will struggle to sign him with Chris Wilder not keen on the idea of losing two key players in him and Djed Spence, who has been linked with a move to Spurs all summer.

Liverpool’s Nat Phillips

There is good news and bad news in the pursuit of Nat Phillips from Liverpool. He is open to a Vitality stay but the Reds have made it clear there will be no loan move and have named their price, which is £15m. They are joined by a host of clubs wanting his signature. (Via: the Liverpool Echo)

However, the Mirror states otherwise and says the club has taken a “U-turn” in their Philipps decision and will consider a loan spell for the Englishman.

Should Bournemouth Fans Worry?

Scott Parker has spoken out and announced there will be no significant strengthening during the summer, however, the attacking line, midfield area and defence are begging for reinforcements. One cannot see Dominic Solanke being the only striker for them all season long.

Robbie Brady could also be on his way out. He is attracting interest from three different clubs: Middlesbrough, Huddersfield Town and Sunderland. Will the Cherries activate his one-year extension option or not, that is the question.

Transfer Update: Bournemouth has announced the signing of free agent, Ryan Fredericks!

Slowest out of the blocks but the first over the finish line in the transfer market. Despite being quiet in the early stages of the transfer window, the Cherries are the first of the three newly promoted clubs to announce a significant newcomer.

They have acquired the services of English fullback, Ryan Fredericks, on a two-year deal after being released by West Ham United, following the expiration of his deal with the West London club. (Full report here)
