Raheem Sterling’s transfer out of Manchester City is edging closer as the summer wears on. Chelsea were told by the Premier League champions that he will cost them somewhere between €55/60m.
Manchester City Look To Raise €100/110M From Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus Sales
Chelsea wants to bolster their attacking line and have identified Man City’s Sterling as the perfect Tuchel fit. City has made it clear: they will only listen to offers in the region of €55m upwards. Sterling’s contract talks have also not been a priority for City to sort out, feeling they are more than prepared to cash in on him now.
"Raheem Sterling, Chelsea top target as reported last Tuesday. Man City want around €55/60m – approach for €25m & add-ons turned down. #CFC Chelsea will be back with new bid soon – as Man City are open to let him go. Man City want €100/110m from Gabriel Jesus & Sterling."
The London clubs in the Premier League appear to be after the same players in the transfer market; the latest transfer battle is over Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, with Chelsea now said to be in the lead thanks to Lukaku’s situation.
The transfer window is well and truly open with some Premier League clubs already declaring their summer spending over while others are yet to get off the mark with a signing. But there is a long way to go until September 1 before the window shuts.
Without any further ado, let us get into the top stories making their rounds this week after Liverpool and Manchester City announced Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, respectively.
Top Story: Chelsea Is Ready to Use Lukaku as a Bargaining Chip for the Potential Arrival of Denzel Dumfries
With Chelsea having to reshuffle things at the back, having a couple of first-team defenders left already and more could follow, they look to Denzel Dumfries as a transfer target this summer.
Reports state:
"Romelu Lukaku could be undergoing his Inter medical as early as next week. A discount for Chelsea for Denzel Dumfries, who Inter value at €45million, could be key in the negotiations over Romelu Lukaku’s loan dean. (Via: @siphillipssport)"
The most certain part of this deal so far is Lukaku getting his wish to return to the San Siro. The other club interested in Dumfries from London hails from the North. Tottenham, with Antonio Conte’s wing-back system, sees the Dutchman Dumfries perfectly suited and might battle the West London faction, Chelsea, for his signature.
