Opening five fixtures: FUL CRY MUN BOU NEW

Liverpool, last season’s runner-up team have the second-best set of opening five fixtures in my opinion and they’re very close to even having the best. Similar to Manchester City, they have three of their opening five at home, face two promoted teams along with Crystal Palace and Newcastle. The one major difference being that they have an away trip against a fellow Top 6 outfit, Manchester United.

Despite the ease with which Liverpool outplayed Manchester United in both fixtures last season, United under new management and at Old Trafford will still be a tricky game for them. Promoted duo Fulham and Bournemouth in the opening five and home games against Palace and Newcastle make for a very kind remaining four games and Liverpool will be confident of hitting the ground running.

Similar to Haaland for City, the relatively kind start might provide the right kind of opportunity to ease Darwin Nunez into the mould.
