Some are strong cases, others are just biased opinions. One would have to agree with some of the masses that there is perhaps a Son, Bowen, or Saka missing from the PFA EPL best XI.

Nonetheless, these are the votes of the players and what they see on the pitch is far different to what we see on the tele or from the terrace.

The first debate about Son not being included is one that must be had. He was by far one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League last season.

While Harry Kane was in a twilight zone trying to force his way out of North London, Son was hammering away, trying to reach the season’s objective of Champions League football. He is the main reason Spurs are playing on Europe’s club stage.

Couldn’t have pointed the above out any better than this Tottenham supporter.

Some more comments on the PFA Premier League Team of the Year:

"Who should have Son replaced? Ronaldo or Mane? Son is a spacial player last season but you can’t compare his performance with those listed. Is not really about scoring goals but your work rate in the team not really about scoring goals. That’s why Messi is special. (@HelenLopping) Bro, Son spot was taken by Cristiano, i think football will be a better sport once this media merchant leave football if he ever do (@Mostlyupsetted) Thiago over Rodri???? (@clinicalkai) Sneaked in Ronaldo like we wouldn’t notice Where’s Sonny? I heard he plays rugby now And why is Thiago there? For most thumbs up or actual game performance? If it’s the latter then Rodri outclassed him But who am I to decide (@only1greatt)"

"I just do not understand the hype about Liverpool. They literally won one PL and one CL over the last 6 years, I don’t care about domestic cups. Why is everyone acting like they accomplished something amazing? Their playing style isn’t anything unique either. What am I missing? (@FootyFan521 via Twitter) liverpool have the better defense but conceded more goals. liverpool have the better attack but scored less goals. liverpool have the better manager but lost the league. (@15ucls) We own this farmers league (@LFCAidan_)"

Think most of them forgot it is the players and the players’ trade union who vote for the team of the season. If anything, they should be asking the players for their reasons. Fun to watch all this drama unfold on Twitter and other social media platforms.
