Todd Boehly has a pedigree in creating a successful and sustainable sporting team. This, undoubtedly, is going to be his aim with Chelsea Football Club.

A combination of short-sighted sales of defenders and the exit of multiple first-teamers means Chelsea will, at least, need multiple faces in defense notwithstanding what they might add in other areas of the pitch.

It’s my belief that a balanced squad usually has 2 players that can play each position and while modern football doesn’t adhere to this given player versatility to play multiple positions as well as tactical flexibility to change systems – I’m going to give my Chelsea squad in a way wherein I’ll mention likely starter for a position and the backup for that position in brackets before discussing.

Considering the rumors of players in and out, it seems to me that Thomas Tuchel is likely to remain with the 3-4-3 shape that’s served him well across his season and a half at the club.

I’ve obviously jumped the gun on whatever speculation of ins and outs seemed concrete enough to me to be probably, so bear with me. Here goes:
