Former West Ham United, Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has retired from professional football at the age of 38.

"“’They offered me many things, including from the United States. But that’s it, I have given everything.“Playing the last year was very difficult but I was able to see my old man. I stopped playing because I lost my number one fan.’ His number one fan being his adopted father Segundo Raimundo.”"

The career of Carlos Tevez

Tevez signed along with Javier Mascherano for West Ham controversially in 2006 from Brazilian side Corinthians. Mascherano struggled in East London moving on to Liverpool in January. However, Tevez was instrumental in helping the Hammers survive relegation scoring on the final day of the season away at Manchester United to keep them in the Premier League.

The Striker then went on to join the Red Devils where he won the Premier League in 2008 and 2009 as well as the Champions League also in 2008. He formed a star-studded front three alongside Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo during his time at Old Trafford.

Tevez then moved to the blue half of Manchester signing for City in 2009. The Argentine won the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League in 2012.

During the title-winning season, Tevez infamously refused to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munch before choosing to go back to Argentina. Tevez did eventually return to City to help them win their first Premier League title.

Tevez left City to join Juventus in 2013 where he won Serie A twice. He then had two spells back at his first club Boca Juniors which sandwiched a short spell in China with Shanghai Shenhua.

Tevez made a total of 202 Premier League appearances scoring 85 goals and winning the Golden Boot during the 2010/11 season.

He was recently seen back at West Ham at the London Stadium last season where he was introduced to the crowd in a Hammers Scalf before watching his former club draw 1-1 with Burnley.
