2. Becoming City’s record goalscorer

In 2017 Sergio Aguero became Manchester City’s record goalscorer scoring his 178th goal against Napoli in the Champions League breaking Eric Brook’s record which had been held for 78 years.

The Argentine had levelled the record with a goal against Burnley before his side came up against Napoli. The Italian side are known for Diego Maradona starring for them but it was his compatriot who stole the show at the Stadio San Paolo that night.

The goal was a slotted finish into the bottom corner past Pepe Reina. Aguero would eventually go on to score 260 goals for the club.
