Player of the Season: James Maddison

After experiencing a slow start to the season, attacking midfielder James Maddison went on to record his highest Premier League tally in regard to goal involvements (12G/8A). Maturing into a senior member of the Leicester City dressing room, Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to retain the 25-year-old’s services with rumours of a move away a matter of not if but when.

Flop of the Season: Yannick Vestergaard

An emergency signing after Wesley Fofana’s injury against Villarreal in preseason, Jannik Vestergaard’s season couldn’t have gone much worse. Seemingly inept to defending with a high-line and within a 2-back as opposed to the 3-back he was deployed in at Southampton, the Danish centre-back quickly fell down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium. An injury crisis offered rare opportunities of minutes but the versatile Daniel Amartey was often preferred alongside Caglar Soyuncu.

Most Improved: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Although there was little to go by in terms of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a Leicester shirt prior to this season, the 23-year-old can’t go without an award. Long and away second place in the running for Player of the Season, the academy graduate has provided a silver lining in an otherwise indifferent campaign for his boyhood club. Possessing an all-round profile in regard to his attributes, Dewsbury-Hall was fielded in a hybrid role to the left of midfield, putting his impressive progressive running to use.

Unsung hero: Daniel Amartey

Potentially a surprise choice, but the responsibility afforded to Daniel Amartey was above anything placed on him prior in a Leicester shirt. In the absence of first-choice central defenders Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana, the Ghanaian international made 28 appearances, a significant increase on the 12 of last season. In response, Amartey performed admirably, quickly becoming a fan-favourite among the Foxes faithful.

Signing of the Season: Ademola Lookman

Narrowly edging Patson Daka, Ademola Lookman has proved a valuable addition to Rodgers’ armoury since arriving from RB Leipzig on a season-long loan deal. Such was his form, the 24-year-old was able to displace the highly-rated Harvey Barnes on the left while drawing praise when tasked with filling in on the unfamiliar right-side. With a £14m option to buy, Leicester are reportedly tempted by a permanent deal.
