Gleison Bremer – Torino (25)

Considering the potential outgoings in central defence, the club will need to address this issue with at least two new faces in the position. Helped by a market where many centre backs are available for what can be deemed as a bargain, this rings true for Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian defender has been a mainstay at the heart of Torino’s defence since 2018 and is another example that would suit Thomas Tuchel’s 3-back system.

He is an extremely busy defender who ranks in the 98th and 99th percentile for pressures (16.85 per 90) and successful pressures completed. The impressive thing about this is that he averages 8.03 of those pressures in the middle third of the pitch, meaning he is more than adept to playing a higher line/stronger press.

His defensive numbers are almost off the charts. 99th percentile in blocks, 98th percentile in interceptions and a whopping 4.80 aerial duels won per 90 which equates to him being in the 99th percentile for that too.

Bremer is as solid of a defender as they come, and having a commanding figure at the heart of the defence for years to come for a fee thought to be in the region £40m is a no brainer for higher-ups at the club.
