Player of the Season: Wilfried Zaha

Going into his 9th season at Crystal Palace, the Ivorian has again been instrumental in the forward line for the club. This has been the best season for the former Manchester United graduate statistically with 14 goals and an assist. Time will tell if a move is on the cards for the 29-year-old, especially with Vieira unwilling to let his star player leave for cheap.

Flop of the Season: Jack Butland

This season has certainly been one to forget for the former England international. Signed as a backup to Vincente Guaita, the 29-year-old has been average at best whenever called upon and most likely will be looking to switch clubs ahead of next season.

Most Improved Player: Tyrick Mitchell

The 22-year-old has become a key player for Patrick Vieira after starting nearly 35 games this season. The Crystal Palace Young Player of the Season’s performances earned him his first England senior call-up and has shown the potential to become a very good player.

Unsung Hero: Joachim Andersen

The Danish international has started nearly 40 games in his debut season for the Eagles. He has also been pivotal in organising the defence alongside Marc Guehi, another player in his debut season for the club.

Signing of the Season: Conor Gallagher

Arriving on loan from Chelsea, the Cobham graduate has been sensational for the Eagles scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists. The English international has a lot of room to grow and is set to fight for his place under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea next season.

Team Rating: 7/10

The 2021/22 season has shown that Crystal Palace are definitely a team to watch out for. A team filled to the brim with energy, commitment and talent with an unproven yet exciting manager, 2021/22 could prove to be the beginning of something special.
