Arsenal’s season appraisal: So close but yet so far from UCL football
What Now for Mikel Arteta, Edu, and Arsenal Football Club?
Arsenal’s young team is rather exciting and when they turn the screw, they are simply one of the best young teams to watch in the top flight. If they can add experience, talent, and athleticism, they state a strong case for fourth place next season and even some silverware.
They have already been chipping away in the transfer market, having agreed to one deal for Sao Paulo winger, Marquinhos, while working on deals for Manchester City Gabriel Jesus and Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.
Both Premier League players see their futures away from their respective clubs and it is said that the Gunners boss is a big admirer of both players. After the Foxes’ terrible campaign, they missed out on European competitions, something Tielemans wants to be a part of and the reason he does not want to extend his stay at the King Power.
Jesus, on the other hand, wants to leave the Etihad because of the inevitable arrival of Erling Haaland. If they manage to pull off these deals and add two defenders, one fullback and one center-back, to their thin backline (even three defenders if they can), they could be a force to reckon with in the new season.
The trend they need to continue with at the Emirates: is getting rid of the deadwood as they’ve done in the past and stop with these players that enjoy contract standoffs.
