This Summer’s Gonna Hurt For Aston Villa Fans

Steven Gerrard has made his ambitions for the club very clear: European qualification. Those are lofty ambitions for the still-reviving Aston Villa to shoot for, but because it’s Steven Gerrard, those ambitions are more than OK.

But that also means it is more than likely that some familiar and beloved faces around the squad will probably leave and start elsewhere and for some Villa fans, that might hurt a little.

Most likely the defense will need bolstering, a defensive midfielder would be most vital, as well as maybe creating a more killer instinct among the attacking front.

From what we’ve seen, the manager and club seem to be exactly on the same page in terms of vision and who stays and who goes. Plus, the club seems more than willing to financially back Gerrard and make contact with practically any player he requests.

Those two things very seldom go hand-in-hand so well, so when it does, that’s where beautiful things in football can start to take place. Villa fans should be excited about what’s to come for their club starting this summer.
