Defenders

My picks:

Trent Alexander-Arnold (8.4m) – The first of my single Fantasy Premier League gameweek picks in this draft. Southampton are bottom for xG conceded and Liverpool need a win to keep the pressure on City giving Trent the potential to score well at both ends of the pitch.

Matty Cash (5.3m) – Even though Lucas Digne has had better underlying numbers since his surprise return a few games ago, Cash is my pick given it’ll be another set of weekend and midweek games placing some doubt about Digne’s fitness for this schedule. Two good fixtures and decent attacking upside.

Vitaliy Mykolenko (4.9m) – This is my differential pick over the commoner FH drafts. Mykolenko is playing left-wingback for Everton and has good attacking numbers. Everton have fared poorly for big chances created but performed well for big chances conceded over the past 6 games making double defence my slight preference over getting the excellent Anthony Gordon to double up in attack.

Other options:

Joao Cancelo, Ryan Sessegnon and Jonny Otto all have a good combination of attacking data and a favourable single fixture making them worthy picks if needed.
