Manchester United Fullback Might Make Crystal Palace Return
With Manchester United looking forward to a new era under new manager, Erik Ten Hag, many first-team players are on the brink of an Old Trafford exit. One such player who might look to jump ship in the wake of a shake-up is Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
It will once again be a busy summer transfer window for Man United and their fans. With the inevitable arrival of Erik Ten Hag what can be expected from the transfers in and out of the club? There have already been reports stating the club’s board is willing to back Ten Hag with a £100m summer budget.
This is not a huge amount in today’s market and does indicate further that the club will have to make sales and buy smart to stay within the £100m transfer budget, or at least use the total to its full potential. Some players, eight to be exact, have already been listed as transfer ready; Aaron Wan-Bissaka is said to be one of them.
Limited game time for the Manchester United fullback
Since the arrival of interim boss Ralf Ranginick, Wan-Bissaka has seen limited minutes on the pitch. His best run of games under the German came at the end of February, where he featured in four games consecutively (1 Win; 2 Draws; 1 Loss).
Under previous boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he was certainly favored and saw a lot more game time, missing only two games over a 20-game span. Having fallen out of favor and possibly heading for the exit doors, AWB sees a return to Selhurst Park as the most sensible destination.
Crystal Palace is the place where he made a name for himself, earning a transfer valuation of £50million; the fee paid by Man United for the right-back in 2019. That, plus the fact the club is ready to take advantage of the overhaul taking place at Old Trafford and will look to re-sign him.
"Crystal Palace are ready to launch a return swoop for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to reports. Wan-Bissaka signed for the Old Trafford giants in a near-£50million deal coming up three years ago.Reports in The Athletic suggest Palace will put out all the stops to re-sign him when the market reopens.(Via: manchestereveningnews.co.uk)"
After three years, Aaron Wan-Bissaka might get to reset his journey as a professional footballer, having hit an impasse in personal progress. Before his move to Manchester United, he was wanted by multiple big clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham but then was eventually signed by Man United.
Diogo Dalot appears to be the club favorite and the player to cement the right-back role next season and in the far future, having refused to sell him or loan him out again last summer. A transfer of AWB would suit all parties involved best.
