Everton want answers after Penalty no-call in derby
Everton have contacted the PGMOL in search of answers following a penalty no-call in the Merseyside derby, against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Blue side of Liverpool believe that Anthony Gordon should have had a penalty, when he was challenged by defender, Joel Matip.
Eight minutes after the penalty incident Andy Robertson would score Liverpools opening goal of the match. Divock Origi would settle the game later on, giving Everton a 2-0 defeat.
The defeat leaves the Toffee’s in the relegation zone, with just six games to go.
Frank Lampard suggested post-match that had the challenge on Gordon, been a challenge on a Liverpool player, he would have been awarded a penalty.
"“It was a penalty, you don’t get them at Anfield,” he said.“If that was Mohamed Salah at the Kop end, I think [the referee] gives that. It was a foul on Anthony.”"
His comment’s have led to the FA contacting him to explain his remarks.
Earlier this season, the PGMOL apologised to Everton, following a handball by Rodri, that wasn’t given.
The Toffee’s have more problems, with them now dropping into the relagation zone, and closest rivals, Burnley, winning their last two games in a row, since sacking manager, Sean Dyche.
Everton take on Chelsea in the Premier League’s next round of fixtures.
