What has been a rocky ride, to say the least, will eventually conclude come the end of the season; Paul Pogba, as per reports, will leave Manchester United as a free agent… Again!

As ever: not everything is cast in stone but there is certainly little dought Old Trafford is not where the French midfielder sees himself next season. There has been endless discussion between the club and player about a contract extension but to no avail. The player has already left the team’s WhatsApp group in his exit quest.

It’s Been a Messy Show For Manchester United

Pogba recently spoke of the possibility of him staying at United but the focus was on helping the team reach the top four at the time. Sadly, he will be out for the remainder of the campaign, possibly playing his last game as a Red Devil because of the layoff.

Talks then indicated that the sleeping giant was prepared to offer him an astronomical salary increase—an increase that would have seen him surpass Cristiano Ronaldo and David De Gea as the club’s best-paid players—as well as becoming the best-paid player in the Premier League.

The dust barely settled on this revelation and soon followed the news that the rest of the dressing room was up in arms to hear Paul Pogba was about to become the club’s best earner.

Understandable, considering the Pogba ordered from Juventus was not the Paul that arrived at Old Trafford back in 2016 for a club-record transfer fee and now, one is back at the very beginning and the footballing world must prepare for a Pogba transfer—a free transfer to be precise.

"Pogba has told his Manchester United team-mates he is leaving this summer, and is even said to have left the WhatsApp group the squad uses to stay in touchPaul Pogba has played his last game for Manchester United – and also appears to have sent his final message to the squad group chat on WhatsApp.Ralf Rangnick confirmed that Pogba is out for the rest of the season after picking up an injury early on in the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool last Tuesday, and is not expected to sign a contract extension. The 29-year-old is a free agent at the end of the season, and United’s £89million club-record signing looks certain to leave Old Trafford. Interested Pogba Parties

Consistently, it has been his previous club Juventus, always interested Real Madrid, and his first love PSG who have all been linked with a potential Paul Pogba transfer. So far the Mirror reported straight after the news of his exit from the WhatsApp group, two contract offers were already submitted to the World Cup winner.

He has always flirted with the idea of being a Los Blanco but at the same time has never ruled out a return to be with the Old Lady. With the Parisians, who wouldn’t want to be a part of Europe’s new era “Dream Team”?

Manchester United’s business is laughable at best

It takes a serious kind of special to lose one of the most promising youngsters on a free transfer; watch him prosper from afar in the Serie A, winning league title after league title; sign him back for a club-record fee of £89million, and then lose the same player for free again.

Honestly, if they were never 100% certain that he would stay at the Theatre of Dreams, why take the risk of losing him for free? Man United should have cashed in earlier already and at least recovered some of the funds from the massive £89m deal.

Even half of the £89m would be enough to fund a transfer for a player who wants to be at the club. Pogba’s injury must be taken as a blessing in disguise, as they get to see what life is on the pitch without the Frenchman.
