Assessing Robert Lewandowski’s Premier League options

Lewandowski to Chelsea?
Another club that will always be in the mix when a player of Lewandowski’s calibre becomes available, but the West-London side’s off the pitch issues may quell their fans’ hopes of this one coming to fruition.
A timeline as to when the Blues will be able to operate freely again is unclear, with a takeover said to be imminent but equally ambiguous.
From a purely footballing standpoint, Thomas Tuchel has been subject to a striker induced headache this season. Marquee signing Romelu Lukaku failing to repay his £97.5m transfer fee up until this point.
The season prior’s headline acquisition Kai Havertz has begun to find form recently but is a distance from finding the consistent output needed for a team such as Chelsea and is relatively unproven in leading the line.
A switch to Stamford Bridge for Lewandowski may look unlikely at this point but don’t be surprised if we see the club throw their name in the hat if they are to get their house in order.
Status: Unlikely but not beyond the realm of possibility.
