Robert Lewandowski’s contract negotiations with Bayern Munich have reportedly hit a standstill, as the player becomes increasingly agitated by a lack of contact with the club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that Lewandowski will leave the Bavarian giants ‘immediately’, if a new deal isn’t signed by the summer, ahead of his contract’s expiry in 2023.
Romano stated last month that the Poland international’s future was ‘open’, but he remains ‘focused on the second part of the season’, although talks with higher-ups at the club are still yet to commence.
Lewandowski signed for Bayern on a pre-contract agreement from former club Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and has since gone on to shatter a host of records including the most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season (41) previously held by Gerd Muller.
The 33-year-old is on course for another unprecedented campaign having scored 43 goals in just 36 appearances in all competitions this season.
Expectedly, murmurings of unrest have caught the attention of a host of Europe’s elite and in particular several Premier League outfits.
Let’s assess the potential suitors.
