Everton look to have won the race to sign Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek, with a loan deal set to be finalised before Monday’s deadline.

The Dutchman could be the first signing of a new era at Everton, with a new manager set to be announced this week. If reports are true, that man will be former Chelsea man, Frank Lampard.

Van de Beek’s time at United has been nothing short of a disaster so far, with the player struggling to get playing time, being seemingly exiled throughout the first period of his time in the north. This season he has played just 14 times, scoring one goal, in mostly substitute appearances. There was hope that after Ralf Rangnick was employed as manager at Old Trafford that he would find a way onto the pitch more, but that has since not happened.

Everton beat out Crystal Palace to the players signature, with the team hoping he can not only be key to their revival, but can propel himself back to the form he displayed at Ajax.

The deal is set to be completed and announced by Monday morning, being the club’s second deal of the window, and first since Rafael Benitez was sacked.
