Following the news that Dele Alli will be allowed to leave Tottenham, who has also started bidding his farewells to all the staff and players at the club, believing he could be sold before they all return to training from the winter break, the club has identified their replacement: Sofyan Amrabat.

Despite not having any official bids for Alli, Tottenham are said to be wasting no time in replacing the Englishman and must “move on at least one midfielder” to secure a move for a new player.

The club will make an official offer for Sofyan Amrabat, who is in return only prepared to make the switch to North London to join Conte.

Antonio Conte is also said to be a big admirer of the defensive midfielder and prefers him over other possible candidates. They will start the bidding at £13.4m for their primary target.

"Tottenham are ready to submit an official proposal to sign the defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina with an option to buy for €16m (£13.4m).Amrabat, who is with Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations, has his heart set on a move to Spurs and is Antonio Conte’s preferred option in that position.Talks have been taking place since Sunday but Tottenham need to offload Tanguy Ndombele, who is wanted on loan by Paris Saint-Germain, or Dele Alli, who is an option for Newcastle, if they are to take Amrabat. The Fiorentina midfielder is currently on international duty with Morocco taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Morocco are still very much in the running after just beating Malawi 2-1 on Tuesday past in the round of 16.

Their quarterfinal fixture sees them take on one of the tournament favourites, Egypt. Mohamed Salah and co. failed to score against their round of 16 opponents, Ivory Coast — they advanced through to the next round after winning a penalty shootout.

Amrabat has played a key role in Morocco’s progression in the tournament, missing only the first game and making the starting lineup for every encounter thereafter.

Who makes way for Tottenham target, Sofyan Amrabat?

There are two players on the exit list: the above mentioned Dele Alli and the out-of-favour, Tanguy Ndombele. As mentioned earlier the club and the former are ready to part ways while the latter has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks.

As per reports: ex-Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino, still sees the Ndombele as part of his plans — he was the one to get the Frenchman to North London before being sacked by the ruthless Daniel Levy.

"Antonio Conte’s arrival at Tottenham Hotspur has done little to improve Tanguy Ndombele’s form, and the French midfielder has all but been given up on by the Italian coach, leaving Paris Saint-Germain with a clear run to complete his signing.Mauricio Pochettino brought the former Lyon playmaker to Spurs, but was dismissed in that very same season, although a reunion is now highly likely.PSG are looking to bolster their squad as Pochettino seeks to improve his level of control over a star-studded squad, even if rumours persist that Zinedine Zidane will be replacing him at the end of the current season.
