Liverpool and Man City will go head to head for Juventus’ Paulo Dybala
Liverpool and Manchester City are on high alert following the news Juventus star, Paulo Dybala, will not be renewing his contract with the Old Lady; his current deal runs out at the end of the season.
Paulo Dybala, who is now eligible to talk to clubs outside of Italy due to him being in the final six months of his current contract, is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, has gained interests from powerhouses, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Paulo Dybala to Liverpool?
As per ESPN and other outlets: the Reds have made contact with the Argentine attacker — they are eager to sign him on a free transfer and have him join by the end of the season — Dybala is also said to be happy to consider a move to Anfield.
Espen future states that he is not prepared to play second fiddle to the potential incoming of Dusan Vlahovic, who Juve want to sign for €75 million.
Meanwhile, 90min.com reports: due to his long layoff at the beginning of the season the club made amendments to his deal which saw his salary work on a more incentive basis, as well as cutting down the length of the original agreement.
"Liverpool have contacted Juventus striker Paulo Dybala over a possible transfer, says Tuttomercatoweb.Dybala, 28, is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree terms over a new deal. The Argentina international is set to have some competition for his place once Juve completes the €75 million signing of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina in the coming days. (Via: ESPN)"
Subsequently and coming as no surprise, Pep Guardiola has urged his City board to try and negotiate a deal for the Serie A man. He believes a free transfer for one of Europe’s best attacking options is a chance for a spectacular deal and could offer cover in multiple positions at the top end of the pitch.
"Manchester City are said to be currently studying a potential move for Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala.La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Pep Guardiola has always been a big admirer of La Joya and that is largely because of his liking for players that can play different roles on the pitch, while being equally effective everywhere that they can play.City feel Dybala on a free transfer as a big opportunity to get Guardiola a player that he really appreciates since his time at Bayern Munich and the club will easily be able to afford the wage demands of the Argentine too. Dybala, a potential replacement for Torres
The Cityzens have recently lost Ferran Torres to Guardiola’s old side Barcelona and a replacement for the Spaniard is a necessity for the club to complete now or in the summer — that and filling the hole left by Sergio Aguero must still be seen to as well — Paulo Dybala could fill either of the mentioned Man City players voids.
The best teams in England could elevate Paulo Dybala’s game
Any player on top of their game and wanting to improve would be crazy to miss out on the opportunity to work with either, Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola; both Premier League managers have their squad producing insane numbers, week in and week out.
Dybala’s progress has for a long time, stagnated. His time at Juventus has consisted of injuries, being the club’s blue-eyed boy, and having to try and show Ronaldo up when the pair played together while the Portuguese enjoyed a short spell at the Allianz Stadium.
Despite being limited to time on the pitch due to an injury at the start of the season, the Argentine has scored seven goals and assisted another three in only 17 Serie A appearances.
Predicting who will win this transfer race, with Inter Milan also wanting his signature: like most of the Premier League title races have gone, we could see Manchester City’s monetary powers come into play and Liverpool lose yet another world-class star to their title rivals.
Inter will also be left behind when all clubs dig into their pocket and see what their transfer kitty is like for a Dybala transfer.
