Ralf Rangnick has made it clear that the Manchester United trio of Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, are all unfit for the club and believes they must be replaced sooner rather than later.

The Manchester United interim boss did not hold back on his feelings when discussing the future of under-fire captain Harry Maguire and his two fullback partners, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Since being named as the interim manager for the club, the German has preferred to go with Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles as his fullback pairing over the set of Wan-Bissaka and Shaw; even Phil Jones made a start for United in their 1-0 loss against Wolves, indicating the dire need to hire better personnel at the back.

Now, just ahead of an important Premier League clash where they travel to Brentford, Rangnick has told the commanding chiefs at Manchester United that Maguire, Shaw, and Wan-Bissaka are not the right fit for a club fighting for top honours, going as far as saying replacements are needed.

"Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick reportedly delivered a presentation to club chiefs earlier this month, where he told them that captain Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were not good enough to be playing for the club. And the German insisted all three of them need replacing. All three players Rangnick laid into have struggled for form this season, but the manager’s words are likely to have come as a huge shock to club chiefs, who apparently believed until last summer that they had a side that could compete for a place in the top four.Rangnick’s disparaging views on Maguire could be particularly damaging as he is the club captain and was signed for £80million – a world record fee for a defender(Via: express.co.uk)"

Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United formation change

Due to ongoing problems at the back and having only won two games in their last five EPL outings, the manager feels it best to stick to a 4-3-3 formation, as they deployed against Aston Villa in their latest 2-2 draw (the FA Cup 1-0 win over Villa was with his famous 4-2-2-2 formation).

Of the top 10 clubs in the Premier League standings this season, United is the third-highest conceding team with 29 goals conceded — only Leicester City (33 goals conceded) and West Ham United (30 goals conceded) have let in more goals.

Names being thrown around by Man United as potential replacements for the unfit

The rumour mill has named Wolves defender Max Kilman and RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara as future targets and proper prospects to take the club forward.

Current players in the squad and at the club will obviously have the next six months as an audition period and opportunity to try and convince the interim boss they are good enough to be called Red Devils.

Do you agree with Ralf Rangnick’s review on Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka?
