Arsenal is a club that does not require much of an introduction. This is one of those few clubs that have seen everything. From going unbeaten for a whole Premier League season in 2003/04 to finishing 8th on the Premier League table last season and getting no European football whatsoever.

For all neutral football fans to see the downfall of mighty Arsenal is not a pleasant sight. Arsenal is a club that is short of European titles but yet they have always used to be one of the favourites when they had Wenger in charge.

They were mighty close to glory in 2006 when they ultimately lost to Ronaldinho’s Barcelona. Wenger era got over in the 2016-17 season. Arsenal needs to get out of their bubble of being a top club and actually need to perform that way to remain one of the best clubs in the world.

Luckily, Mikel Arteta joined the club in their quest to glory. Arsenal has not finished in the top 4 since Arsene Wenger was their manager. For a club of that stature. That is really alarming. They are the fallen giants Arsenal needs to play European football. But next season they might get some European football.

Arteta however, did not get as much opportunity to prove himself because of the lack of quality in the dugout. But now, things are looking different. Arsenal has some great youngsters playing for them.

Some really exciting European talents are playing for them like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, etc. The signing of Aaron Ramsdale the 23-years-old English GK made the squad even more interesting. He is a contender for signing of the season even.

Arsenal played with great motivation against the defending champions last Premier League matchday. They looked extremely confident. We could also see the chemistry building among the player. Even, Arsenal came very close to snatching 3 points from Man City.

Arsenal is one of the clubs that since coming in the top division has never been relegated. They got promoted in 1912-13 and have not played a single season in the second division ever since. For over 100 years or so they have always been one of the favourites for the English League domestic titles. It is something not many clubs can say in the top flight.

Arsenal has proudly stayed in the first division. They have won the famous and prestigious FA Cup for a record 14 times. No other team in the history of English football has won more of it than Arsenal. They have also won the league 13 times. That is a very impressive number. English League has always been the most dominant and competitive league.

So, to get numbers like those there is really impressive. But the spark and the glory the club once had is unfortunately no longer there. You can say that it might be because of a lack of motivation or lack of talent. To play European football, a team needs to be at top of their game.

They can not afford any mistakes. But the fallen giants, Arsenal, seem to have made plenty of them. Now, the time for them is to work in the favour of the club so that they could play Champions League next season.

Arteta’s team however got a shockingly early exit this FA Cup 3rd Round. But on the bright side, they would have more opportunity and time to focus on the league. After playing 20 games Arsenal is sitting at 35 points and on the 4th spot.

If they keep on playing the way they are doing. Then they might even get themselves some European football. To be very honest playing in Europe next season for Arteta’s Arsenal FC would be nothing short of silverware.

Playing in CL next season could give a massive confidence boost to the club and they could again go on a road to become the mighty Arsenal that they once were.
