Leeds were reportedly close to bringing in the  Huddersfield midfielder Lewis O’Brien during the summer transfer window, but the deal ultimately fell through. With Leeds still in need of a central midfielder, O’Brien could make his way to Elland Road in January.

O’Brien is one of the top midfielders in the Championship, and his ability to press as a central midfielder would make him a welcome addition to Bielsa’s side. O’Brien is versatile as well and potentially could play in a holding midfielder role to cover Kalvin Phillips.

Huddersfield reportedly were willing to let him go in the summer, but the terms of the deal did not satisfy both parties. If Leeds and Huddersfield Town were to return to the negotiating table and complete the transfer, O’Brien would provide depth for Leeds, and add his high pressing ability to a club in need of options.
