Almost a week has passed since Anthony Martial’s agent voiced his clients’ frustrations and subsequent desire to leave Manchester United.
The Frenchman’s representative Phillipe Lamboley told Sky Sports:
"Anthony wishes to leave the club in January. He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon."
Martial’s desire to leave Manchester United doesn’t come as a surprise with him featuring just 7 times in the Premier League this season, with an average of 30 minutes per game and only 2 coming from the start.
The manner in which he has expressed his desire has divided opinions, however, with none more surprised than his manager who is understandably reluctant to conversate via media channels.
“I don’t communicate with agents via the media and press,” Ralf Rangnick said.
"The player hasn’t spoken with me or us about it. After the final training session before the Crystal Palace game, after having trained with team, he informed the doctor and the medical department that he would not be available because the pain in his knee is too big. We have to wait and see. Maybe he can train again [on Sunday] but I have to speak to the doctor first. To be honest, what his agent says via the media is not of that much interest to me."
Irrespective of the fashion the 26-year-old has gone around making his intentions known, let’s take a further look into his options for a move elsewhere.
