According to several reports, Manchester United are set to kindle their interest in the versatile French international, Boubacar Kamara.

The Red Devils are looking to bolster their midfield and have now set their sights on the 22-year-old French defender, Boubacar Kamara. However, the Premier League giant will face stiff competition from Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers as they are also looking to gain his services.

The reports read:

"Kamara is not short of suitors. He rejected deadline-day moves to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United in the most recent market, and lines of communication with Newcastle have remained open following their £305 million takeover by a Saudi Arabia-backed group in October. He is under consideration at one of the traditional top-four Premier League clubs and Manchester United are also across the situation as they weigh up possibilities to bolster their midfield.(Via: The Athletic)"

Since the start of the 2021/22 season, the club is looking to bolster the defensive midfield options. Fans believe that a DM (defensive midfielder) is a missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle at Old Trafford. Various players like Ruben Neves, Wilfred Ndidi and Declan Rice are linked with a move to Old Trafford for a similar role.

The Marseille player has played in various positions for the team in the ongoing Ligue 1. Boubacar Kamara has featured as a defensive midfielder, wing-back, central defender and a right back in the ongoing campaign.

Boubacar Kamara is in the final year of his contract and is apparently unwilling to extend the contract with the French outfit. Marseille will look to recoup some of the transfer fees (The player’s value stands at €28 million).

At No.6 position, the Old Trafford outfit has favoured the industrious Fred – Scott McTominay duo over others. The former Red Devil gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, received a lot of flak for fielding the Brazil – Scotland midfield despite their poor performances. Barring these two, only the aging Nemanja Matic remains as an alternative for the interim manager, Ralf Rangnick.

The French midfielder has set his heart out of Marseille and wants to test the waters outside France. Manchester United can be a lucrative option for the player, though he is yet to decide his next club.
