Attacking option for Liverpool: Jonathan David, Lille forward

There may be no hotter young striker in the world than Jonathan David.

The 21-year old Lille striker followed up a title-winning season in Ligue 1 with 11 goals in 17 matches this season. Despite Lille falling to mid-table this season, David has constantly been able to find the back of the net.

Liverpool has been rumored to be interested in the Canadian, and he would be a smart investment for the Reds. Valued at around 35 million pounds, he could be an ideal future asset to develop behind Salah, Mane and Jota.

Liverpool needs to inject both depth and youth into their attackers. Salah and Mane are not exactly old, but they will be entering their thirties next year. Roberto Firmino is already 30, and David could be seen by the club as a replacement for the Brazilian in the future.

The Reds desperately need attacking depth if they want to remain competitive in the Champions League and the Premier League. Jonathan David could be one for now and for the future.
