Surprise links to Real Madrid for Manchester United midfielder
The January transfer window is around the corner and we are expecting a lot of movement around the Premier League and in the transfer market; one player anticipated to make a move, loan or permanent, is Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard.
Jesse Lingard has long been the subject of a Manchester United exit and it appears it will remain that way until the fringe player makes the switch from Old Trafford to another club.
Most recently, the team linked with a possible Lingard transfer has come with a bit of a shock, as Real Madrid reportedly consider the option of bringing him to the Spanish capital.
This could create a massive issue for United who are looking to make a profit on the sale of the academy product. Lingard is in the final year of his current deal and will be allowed to talk to clubs outside of England by January and can consent to a pre-agreement before eventually leaving for free next summer.
However, for a dream move to Los Blancos to take place, they will first need to secure the sale of the outcast, Isco. For some time now the Spaniard, like the Englishman Lingard, has been frozen out of team selection and has been a bit-part player for them.
Manchester United will have a lot of offers for Jesse Lingard
The team said to be heavily interested in an Isco addition is the same team strongly linked with a move for Lingard, as they search for a creative midfielder with the mentioned above pair’s quality.
"Manchester United could be dealt a blow by Real Madrid if the LaLiga side are able to sell playmaker Isco to West Ham before the Red Devils can negotiate an exit for Jesse Lingard. The Hammers are reportedly understood to be interested in signing Isco despite trying to re-sign former loanee Lingard in the summer.Selling him [Jesse Lingard] in January would at least guarantee some sort of cash which would go a long way to helping new interim head coach Ralf Rangnick start the club’s rebuilding process. If the Hammers pull off the deal for Isco, the move for Lingard to come to London would die down, but then will eventually open the door for the United man to move to Spain and join Real Madrid for free — a deal they will surely invite with them trying to secure mega deals for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland — if rumours are to be believed.
Jesse Lingard is yet to make a start in the Premier League for Manchester United but has started two games this season: one in the Champions League and one in the EFL Cup. Overall, he has made 11 appearances this season and we already are at the halfway mark of the term.
He is looking to get out of the club as soon as January, so he can vie for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s 2022 World Cup squad. Besides Madrid and West Ham’s interests, Newcastle United and Inter Milan.
