After sorting out the work permit process, Ralf Rangnick finally took charge of his first game with Manchester United, versus Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Much has been spoken and discussed about Rangnick’s management, tactics, including the style of play here at The Top Flight where we identified several tenets of his Manchester United side that were visible in action against Crystal Palace.

However, the short duration between him being appointed and his first game, including a short turnaround after their previous game hence likely a recovery day in between, mean’s Rangnick might’ve had just a day to imprint his expectations and tactics on this side making his first game setup very much a work in progress.
