Auerlio Buta, Royal Antwerp fullback

While this isn’t the flashiest signing Everton could make, cover for an aging Seamus Coleman is necessary in January. Buta could be a low-risk option, as he looks ready to make the jump from Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

Buta is a solid, pacey right-back who potentially could step into a starting role in the future. With his contract set to expire at the season’s end, he could be available for a reduced price. Everton loves to make low-priced signings, such as Demarai Gray this summer, and this could be a potential steal.

The Portuguese defender would be a reliable option for the Toffees, who have shown past interest in signing him. The only thing stopping Everton from going in for him is a muscle injury that has kept him out of the side since October.

While other right-back options exist, such as Max Aarons of Norwich City and Nathan Patterson of Rangers, Buta would be a low-risk, high-reward signing in January.
