The obvious Ben Chilwell replacement for FPL managers (like me) that thus far owned only 1 Chelsea wing-back and it wasn’t James. Reece has been absolutely phenomenal this season in Fantasy Premier League and his actual on-field performances.

The English right-back has a monstrous 4 goals, 4 assists and 4 clean sheets to his name in 9 appearances. While he’s outperforming his Expected metrics, xG 1.22 and xA 2.33 for the season so far, James is constantly getting into great positions and is showing the strong quality of his end product including a laser-like volley into the bottom corner against Juventus in the Champions League midweek.

Add to this that he’s slowly looking more integral to the system, and hence more nailed to start, plus is the best for baseline bonus points per minute of all Chelsea defenders, making him likely to pick up bonus points when Chelsea keep a clean sheet.

Bringing in James is a no-brainer for managers that don’t own him yet despite some likely rotation over the festive period; his upside is worth it.
