Valentino Livramento – Southampton

Valentino Livramento departed Chelsea over the summer, being sold to Southampton with a buyback clause allocated to Chelsea. And with his outstanding early performances, that buyback looks better by the day.

Livramento jumped into the starting XI for the Saints during their first match, and he has not relinquished his spot. He has started every match this season and is averaging 2.5 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per match, helping a much-improved Southampton defense.

The FPL darling recently turned 19, but he plays like a much older player. Not only can he defend, he is also a force going forward. Livramento has drawn comparisons to former Southampton star Gareth Bale, who also started his career in defense before becoming a world-class winger.

While it remains to be seen whether or not he is able to live up to those lofty heights, he is off to a fantastic start in the top flight.
