Manchester United injury returns: A sigh of relief for Ole ahead of Leicester City clash?

Manchester United had to live and deal with the news that they will have both first-choice centre-backs missing for their travels to Leicester City, but all is not lost; Ole openly embraces a treble of injury returns.

The latest and most recent injury news Man United received is not what they need during a period where positive results are required.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men have struggled to get a good run going, failing to win in their last two Premier League outings and only collecting two wins from their last six games across all competitions.

This has piled on the pressure for the manager and players and currently losing both Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane to injury where they play Leicester for some much-needed points, just doesn’t help his and the team’s cause.

Thankfully, three players have returned from injury for Manchester United

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Eric Bailly have all reported for training, as per reports. Of the three,  only one helps solve the issue persisting at the back, that is the latter Eric Bailly.

He will surely step in and take over for one of the two CB absentees. The other two, Pogba and Lingard, give Ole some options in attack, an area he should have no problem in with most of the United attackers doing well over the international break and gaining some needed confidence.

Will Eric Bailly be ready to fill in the weekend against Leicester?

The Ivorian is yet to make a Premier League start or appearance this season with his only showing coming in Man United’s EFL Cup loss to West Ham back in September where he completed the full 90 minutes of football.

Other than this, he has only played a couple of international games for Ivory Coast, also completing the full 90 in both fixtures – his most recent outing – a 2-1 win over Malawi.

The last EPL feature for Bailly was last season Matchday 38, the final day victory over Wolves. So what does this tell us about him and what to expect?

United are more than likely to concede a goal with him playing; since last term March, in all the games he has played, United have conceded at least one goal.

His last clean sheet for them in the Premier League came against Crystal Palace at the beginning of the year.
