The international break is almost over, and Gameweek 8 is almost upon us. I will be looking at the top 5 FPL differentials with under 10% ownership for this week, which I hope will be able to give you a boost up the rankings if you select the right one.

Top 5 Differentials of GW8
#5 Ferran Torres (Manchester City) – 7.8% TSB – (Update injured after the release of this post — swap suggestion — check next page for replacement)

Playing the Pep roulette seems like a rewarding prospect this week, as Manchester City face Burnley at the Etihad. This game has a high goal tally written all over it for City.

Looking at the head-to-head history of these two teams, City have managed to score a staggering 30 goals in their last 8 meetings with Burnley, with four of those games ending 5-0! Therefore, FPL managers with the right City assets this week could be in for a massive green arrow — as it would not be unrealistic to expect another 5-0 win.

Torres has been benched by Pep in City’s last 3 Premier League games, however, I believe this was purely a tactical decision. Against tougher opponents, Pep often opts to play a false 9 system — meaning that Torres was always likely to see the bench against Chelsea and Liverpool.

With a relatively easy run of fixtures ahead for City, it will be interesting to see how many games Torres is given to start. Pep rates his ability as a number 9, so I expect him to start many of City’s games where a number 9 is required — including this week.

For those looking for a high-risk punt, then Torres could be your man for not only this week but also the following two fixtures after Burnley. Also, keep an eye out for another City asset to target this week at the #1 spot.
