Burnley fans can now rest easy as manager Sean Dyche agreed to a new four-year contract, which will keep him at Turf Moor till at least the end of the 2024-25 season.
50-year-old Dyche has been at the Lancashire side since 2012 and has successfully led them to two promotions to the Premier League. He is also the longest-serving manager in the top flight right now.
Added to this the Clarets managed two top-half finishes under Dyche, including one, unsuccessful, stint in Europe, which was their first qualification into 51 years.
Dyche expressed his happiness over his new deal, but acknowledge he was more concerned with the future of the club as a whole.
"It is nice to be able to get this deal completed and now look towards the future of this football club, and its constant evolution,” Dyche said.It was an important summer for us to add talent and depth to the team, but the work doesn’t stop there. Dyche has been a stalwart at Burnley, sticking with the team through ownership troubles, and working on the smallest budget in the league. The team have made just three, high-profile cash buys within the last three years, all of which came in the window leading up to this season.
Burnley currently sit 18th after a difficult start this season, they will be looking to get things going on Saturday against Arsenal, now they’ve wrapped up this deal with Dyche.
