Differential #3: Reece James (Chelsea) – 7.3% TSB
After serving his 1-week suspension due to a controversial goal-line clearance against Liverpool in GW3, Reece James is now eligible to play in GW5 against Tottenham – and should be given the nod to start.
Spurs were humiliated by Crystal Palace last week and were limited to just 2 goal attempts all game. Tanganga’s red card in the second half was no excuse for their lacklustre performance, as Spurs failed to even register a single shot in the first half when they had 11 men.
Under Tuchel’s rock-solid Chelsea defence, a clean sheet looks very likely against a deflated Spurs side. With Son still a major injury doubt, Tottenham should struggle to break down the Chelsea defence – and continue to starve Harry Kane of the service he needs to thrive.
Reece James also featured in Chelsea’s first Champions League fixture of the season, creating 3 chances – which was the most by any player on the pitch. This just outlines James’ attacking threat as a wing-back in Tuchel’s system.
With Azpilicueta being more suited at centre-back, and Hudson-Odoi appearing to be out of favour with Tuchel, the expected minutes for James this week and beyond looks positive.
