Third Place: Zenit St. Petersburg

Russian champions, Zenit, will be hoping to improve on the disappointment of last season’s campaign as they crashed out of the group stages picking up just 1 point.

Boasting talented players such as former Barcelona and Brazil winger, Malcom, along with the likes of the experienced Dejan Lovren and Artem Dzyuba, Zenit are certainly capable of causing upsets and will be eager to test themselves against a faltering Juventus side.

Under manager, Sergej Semak, Zenit are unbeaten since March this year and for that reason, I was leaning towards them causing a shock but considering their previous record in the competition my head is telling me they’ll fall short once again.

Definitely, a team to keep an eye out for and who could rock the boat in Group H.

Key Player: Sardar Azmoun

The Iranian international has scored five goals in just six starts in the Russian top-flight this season and played a vital role in their recent victory over rivals CSKA Moscow. The forward who possesses good positional awareness partners the experienced Dzyuba up front and the two of them could pose problems for their Group H rivals.
