Second Place: Villareal

The Spanish team is finally back in the Champions League after not being part of the competition since the 2011/2012 edition.

They are the Europa League winners of last season – which gave them a direct pass to the competition – they won it against Manchester United last year on penalties.

Villareal is known in La Liga as one of the most difficult teams around and one of the teams who always put up a good fight against Real Madrid and Barcelona.

They didn’t have the best starts this season, drawing the three games they have played so far. But they are just a step ahead of Atalanta and take second place in Group F.

The first match against Atalanta is a very important one for both the Italian side and the Spanish side. Whoever wins the first encounter between them, secures second place easily.
